Hi, I am doing a reconstruction of a mid-1500s mansion in Uxbridge, and would be very interested in your thoughts on how the interior rooms might have been allocated / arranged. The original building (of which no image exists) had more than 30 hearths and was arranged in a U shape. Are you familiar with the Treaty House?
Sorry for the slow response! That's a difficult question to answer- there are so many that could be interesting and it depends in what way interesting? However, while not a grand stately home William Morris' Red house is worth a visit (and easy to get to without a car!) and John Soane's country house has just re-opened at Ealing Broadway.

What would you say are the most architecturally interesting stately homes in the London area?
